Since the first walkman was produced, there have been study after study on the effect music plays on a baby in the womb. The all time question of whether listening to music while in the womb will make your baby smarter has riddled out minds until now.
Although your baby’s ears don’t completely develop until the fifth month, fetuses respond to noise before that, which has led some researchers to believe there is more to hearing than just the ears.
There has been no proof supporting claims that listening to music in the womb will increase your child’s intelligence, there has been support for showing that a baby will have an increased sense of rhythm. Studies have shown that the music genre Hip-Hop has shown to show the best support for the claim.
So before throwing out those old Run-D.M.C., Public Enemy, or Jay Z albums maybe you should consider grabbing your favorite pair of headphones and MP3 player and dial it up for the soon to be addition to the family.
