Google suggestions, the hints that appear under the search bar as you type in your search phrase, are normally quite helpful. They are generated by a algorithm of  n what you want to search for based off the keystrokes you’ve already entered, but try typing in “Why won” and the first suggestion will be “why wont my parakeet eat my diarrhea.’ Why? ICANHASFACT.COM has decided to get to the bottom of this.

We tracked down original author, Matt Hammond, from a post on an internet Q&A board asking the same question. “I was actually trying to type why won’t my parakeet eat, as my pet parakeet Petey hadn’t eaten anything for a few days. I had accidentally  left diarrhea typed in the subject line, as I had started posting a question regarding my upset stomach, but then decided against it. When I hit submit,  why wont my parakeet eat my diarrhea is what sent.”  The rest is history.

Hear at icanhasfact, we hypothesize that after a few people read the odd question, they told other’s about it, who then searched for the phrase in google, eventually making it a common search suggestion.
